Since I have my MacBook, I am looking for a decent mouse. Don’t get me wrong, there are some good mice, but as the notebook already has Bluetooth, I want a Bluetooth mouse to get rid of the additional dongle. Yet, I couldn’t find a half-way decent mouse. Logitech only has one single Bluetooth mouse which is specifically for notebooks, but it’s pretty tiny and doesn’t fit my hand very well. Microsoft mice are generally not labeled as Mac compatible and the one I could find costs about EUR 75. Kensington offers also a tiny notebook bluetooth mouse. Apple’s mouse is also overpriced and has bad usability in addition to that (you have to lift your left finger if you want to “click” on the right button).

Actually I’m using a corded Mighty Mouse, and its working great for me. I used to get RSI a lot, but using this mouse has been good health wise. For me, I’ve always lifted my left finger slightly when I right clicked anyway, and on a mac you don’t really need to do that might right clicking. I think the design is definitely worth it because the whole mouse body goes down for a click, hinged at the back, so you can use your hand to create a click and just use your finger position to signal what kind without needing to apply pressure with them.
I don’t think the design was as much an aesthetic choice as a health choice after using my mouse for a month or so. Still, I’d recommend just getting a wired mouse, whichever you choose, because recharging becomes a big hassle very quickly. Also, if you use your mouse for design or art, try to avoid logitech as from my experience their optical mice will stubbornly refuse to do some angles, and end up making circles squarer than they should be. My apple mouse doesn’t do that :)
Good luck!
